Boston/Seaport District

295 Northern Ave, Boston, MA, 02210

The Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport is a 13 story luxury hotel located in the Seaport District Boston with a rooftop generator and a single level underground parking garage shared with the neighboring Ora Seaport Apartments. All switchgear (including equipment/elevator disconnects and bus plugs) and light fixtures were coordinated with sizes and clearances specified in cutsheets/per code. Light fixtures outside of grid ceilings were laid out on the slab utilizing the file exported from the Revit model onto the Trimble Total Station and and lasered up to the deck above to ensure fixtures were installed in coordinated locations. Two bus duct runs were coordinated only running horizontally on the 1st/Mezzanine and 2nd levels until reaching the location they were coordinated for one to rise through the first half of the levels and the other to rise through all of the levels in the electric rooms. Slab openings for bus duct risers and pads for spring hangers were laid out prior to the pour with the Trimble. All power, FA, TD, and incoming utility conduits were coordinated throughout the building with risers in the electrical and Teledata closets on each floor. Conduit sleeves and slab openings below switchgear, stub ups for underground/in-slab MC cable feeding the islands in the units, and threaded rod anchors were coordinated and laid out with Trimble prior to the pour of each slab with the equipment pads being laid out with Trimble post pour. The bolts to secure the generator were laid out using the Trimble prior to generator pad pours. The SER cables feeding the subpanels in each unit was coordinated in the ceiling of the hallway on each floor. All bus duct/conduit/cabling racks were prefabricated per shop drawings generated as part of the coordination services. With Suffolk as the GC coordination of the Hyatt Place started in 2017 and opened in September of 2020.
